Getting there
By Car
If you’re down to make the drive, Maine makes for a great road trip!
We have a few hotel options below that offer valet parking for a fee if you’ll be taking the open road. And no need to bring your car to the island, since the venue is so close to Casco Bay Lines (aka the ferry station).
Maine residents, as you may well know, parking at the ferry can be tricky. There may be spots available in the parking garage, but if not, there are options for street parking near Casco Bay Lines.
And for folks going the Airbnb route or staying outside of Portland’s Old Port area, we recommend taking an Uber to the ferry to avoid parking altogether.
By Plane
You’ve got a couple options for flying into the weekend: you could fly straight into Portland Jetport or you can fly into Boston’s Logan Airport and take a Concord Coach Bus from Logan to Portland (~2 hours). Flying into Portland is great, because you’ll be close to accommodations and the Old Port as soon as you land.
To the Wedding Venue
Our celebration takes place at Greenwood Garden on Peaks Island, Maine. Peaks is a small island, fifteen minutes off the coast of Portland by ferry. The venue is a five-minute walk from the dock when you arrive on the island.
Accommodation
Options
Hotel Room Block
We’re currently working on securing a room block in the Old Port, within walking distance of the ferry. Check back in the New Year, we should have a block ready by then!
Airbnb
Airbnb is a great option for exploring Portland, booking with a big group, and potentially saving some cash. Just be sure you’re staying in the Portland area (not the islands or neighboring cities) for convenience on the big day. Check out Airbnb options here.
Convenient Hotels
Outside of the wedding, a lot of our events will take place in the Old Port—staying near the action will be most convenient. Some hotels we recommend are: the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Waterfront, the AC Hotel Portland Downtown, and the Hampton Inn Portland Downtown (good for pets!) Hotel prices were just released and are currently surging, so keep an eye on changes.
Budget Hotels
These options wouldn’t be walking distance to the ferry or events going on over the weekend, but they’re great for just simple, less expensive options. Take a look at the Clarion Hotel Portland Airport, the La Quinta Inn & Suites DT Maine Med, and the Holiday Inn by the Bay (this option wouldn’t be way too far from the ferry).
